How Often Does A Pool Need Maintenance?

How often should a pool be serviced?

This would be a balance between safety and the expectations of the clients. For example, most private house pools can be maintained well with service once-a-week. But some pools will require servicing twice a week if they have a lot of debris from surrounding landscaping. Some of our clients with penthouse pools request service only once every 2 weeks for maximum privacy.

What happens if you don't maintain your pool?

For pools that are not maintained, chlorine levels will drop below NEA requirements or worse, become zero. The pool might look fine on the onset, but it can be dangerous to the health of the user to swim in it. There may be the proliferation of algae too. And further down the road, mosquito larvae will be present.

What to check for to ensure the pool water quality is safe to swim in and is in pristine condition?

Most importantly, chlorine levels must be within NEA requirements. The pH level of the pool is important too to ensure that the pool is safe to swim in. This can be balanced by using the right amount of acidic and basic chlorine.

To ensure the pool is in proper condition, the filter must be working well and washed regularly. The pump must be an appropriate size for the pool to efficiently ensure proper flow and circulation of chlorine in the pool. All debris must be cleared manually or with vacuum or cleaning robots.

For pools that have been neglected, a shock treatment and a full startup will be required. In these cases, it is necessary for us to conduct a site survey to understand the current situation of your pool better.
